PTeting Law

The Law

It is the duty of all employers including self-employed people to ensure that all electrical equipment they provide in their business is safe and properly maintained. PAT Testing is a critical part of your company's health and safety and should be considered part of a solution to your safety concerns. PAT Testing provides the most effective way to identify defects that can come with use. Faults in electrical equipment pose a potential hazard, particularly if they are not repaired instantly. It is the most effective way of complying with government regulations, health & safety at work act 1974, the electricity at work regulations 1989, the provision and use of work equipment regulations 1998 and the management of health and safety at work regulations 1999. The UK health and safety executive and in some instances your insurance provider will expect you to conform to these regulations.
